UFC Champion Kamaru Usman Cast in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

UFC’s welterweight champion is getting started on his post fight career. Kamaru Usman has been a dominant champion for some time and now he’s off to dominate Wakanda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Usman and his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, announced that he’s been cast in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Kamaru Usman has been campaigning for some time to be in the Black Panther franchise. His wish has finally come to fruition. He will have a role in the upcoming film, although it’s unsure which role he will be playing. Usman, who is from Nigeria, wanted to be a part of the film along with Francis N’Gannou and Israel Adesanya, the two of which are also UFC champions from Nigeria.

It’s not been announced if Adesanya and N’Gannou will be in the film but the two would be great fits for the franchise as well. Both are very into their Nigerian culture. N’Gannou is the heavyweight champion and is a ripped, massive specimen of a human being. Adesanya is the middleweight champion and is very into anime and comics and would be a natural fit into the universe as well.

In the past, Georges St-Pierre has taken on the role of Batroc The Leaper in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Usman joining Black Panther makes him the second UFC welterweight champion to join the MCU.

As everyone knows, Chadwick Boseman, the original Black Panther, sadly passed away in August of 2020 from cancer. There is assuredly to be a tribute to the late Boseman as the mantle will be passed on to a new character.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever comes out November 11th! Kamaru Usman will be back in action on August 20th at UFC 278 as he takes on the tough and talented Leon Edwards in a rematch from 2015.
