Road House Remake Taking Shape
The remake of Road House is taking shape. The 80’s movie cult classic is held in high regards and the new crew is trying to do the movie justice with a modern twist. Earlier in the month it was announced that UFC superstar Conor McGregor is going to also be starring alongside Gyllenhaal in the upcoming movie.
Darren Barnet is playing a character known only as “Sam” right now and has starred in Never Have I Ever, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules. JD Pardo has been in The Twilight Saga and Revolution. Joaquim de Almeida is playing “Sheriff Black.” You’ll recognize him from Fast Five and Behind Enemy Lines. Finally, Kevin Carroll rounds out the new announced fighters having starred in Blindspotting and Paid In Full.
With Gyllenhaal and McGregor attached to the movie alongside the already announced cast, the new Road House remake is looking to make do the original movie justice. It will remain to be seen how McGregor’s appeal to the MMA audience will transfer over to Hollywood and the big screen.
The Road House remake does not yet have a release date but it will be airing exclusively on Amazon Prime. Stay posted to Double Hammerfist for all the latest news surrounding the Road House remake and all things martial arts cinema! Thanks for reading!
